MOSAIC

The Jekyll Island Museum

Client: Main Street Design

Location: Jekyll Island, GA

Opening Date: May 2019

Square Feet: 8,500

Housed in a former horse stable, The Jekyll Island Museum has been designed to consider and preserve its historical character. As a primary stop for visitors who come to the Island, the new exhibition pays homage to the ways its resources have been shaped by its inhabitants over time.

Greeted by a 1950 Studebaker with a vintage style postcard as a backdrop, you are then summoned through the gallery guided by a series of overhead banners that indicate the different eras you are about to explore. Each era is distinctly defined by colors unique to the banners that highlight them.

The Museum has been retrofitted to bring in modern conveniences while also remaining true to its historical character. Through its extensive array of exhibits featuring artifacts, interactive and multi-media displays and touchable objects, the history of Jekyll Island is truly brought to life.

Our success is the result of ONE unified vision executed through ONE cohesive strategy by a multidisciplinary team acting as ONE.
